The spiral bound yardage book made for those looking for a book for the golf bag! Perfect for golfers, retreat leaders, small groups, or anyone looking to keep a copy in the bag to practice during the round. Remember: every round can be holy ground AND you can shove this book in your back pocket or yardage book holder and continue playing, living, thriving.

The Book

Drawing on Christian tradition, Celtic spirituality, and years of life on the course, Case reframes the familiar “rule of life” through the language of play. Each short reflection pairs Scripture, meditation, and practice with a swing thought for the soul: Begin with Intention. Honor the Rhythm. Practice Presence. Welcome the Elements. Be a Curious Companion. Walk with Reverence. Receive the Unexpected. Play the Long Game. Finish with Thanks.

More than a golf devotional, this book is a spiritual companion for anyone seeking presence in motion and peace amid life’s pace. It offers a way to move through both fairways and daily routines with awareness, humility, and joy.

Perfect for golfers, small groups, or anyone longing to live with intention, The Golfer’s Rule of Life reminds us that every round can be holy ground, and that grace meets us — in the swing, the silence, and the shared laughter along the way.

About the author

Joshua Case

Joshua Case is an Episcopal priest, former golf teaching professional, and outdoor enthusiast. Known to many as a Soul Caddie, Joshua walks alongside others at the intersection of life and Spirit—where the journey becomes the teacher and every moment a chance to listen for God.

In The Golfer’s Rule of Life, Joshua blends the wisdom of the course with the rhythm of faith, offering nine practices for mindful play and intentional living. Drawing from Christian tradition, Celtic spirituality, and years on the fairway, he invites readers to see golf—and life itself—as a sacred journey of presence, gratitude, and joy.

When he’s not living out his vocation at Christ Episcopal Church through leading, preaching, writing, or guiding pilgrimages, Joshua can be found walking the course, laughing it up with fellow players, or guiding conversations on faith and well-being. Joshua lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife and two kids.

You can reach Joshua for booking your next retreat, outing or gathering at caddie@ruleoflife.golf

What readers’ said

It’s often been said by golfers that they feel the game in their souls. In The Golfer’s Rule of Life, Joshua Case illuminated the concept and demonstrates how golf and faith can interact and it feels more valuable than any swing tip you have ever received.
